Does he like me or is he just messing around?

not 100% sure on this but it sounds like he's mad at you but still likes you at least somewhat. You may have to confront him about it to get things cleared up. corner him in the hall one day and ask him straight to his face what his deal is. It could also be that hes interested in another girl but still has feelings for you and doesnt want to let that other girl find out. Sort of like when you have a guy friend but dont talk to him as much when you start dating a new guy so you dont give the new guy the wrong impression. But thats just my best guess.
