My husband won't communicate with me?

Whenever I have an issue that I want to discuss with my husband, he completely shuts down and literally will not say anything. If he does say something, it is 1 or 2 words every 15 minutes. I have not had a lot of experience with relationships, but do most men have this issue? I get so frustrated when he ignores me and I lose my temper. I feel like I am talking to a brick wall. I am a pretty open person who is willing to listen to almost any answer my husband gives me, but he doesn't want to discuss any of our issues. That just makes me jump to conclusions. Any advice. Please no sarcastic or rude answers.
