McCanns: why would Kate and Gerry find book sales a laughing matter?

I cannot understand anyone buying this book,we all are very familiar with this strange,sad slightly out of focus story so I can see nothing new being in the book but fools and their money and so on and perhaps they have just heard the sales figures and are laughing all the way to the bank.
