Which TV show lied? People dying of laughing too mich?

So i was in Japan last summer and there was this show that featured a segment of a show from England that wss one of those "weird ways to die" shows, and it featured a guy who laughed at a TV show for 20 minutes straight and died. I said "that's cool" but then i saw 1000 Ways To Die. This time, there was a guy who died of laughter, only this time he laughed for 36 hours straight. I KNOW that one of the shows is lying. I mean could there be any physical variables? The guy laughing for 20 minutes was old and skinny, but the guy who laughed fir 36 hours was morbidly obese. Could that be it? Which TV show lied?
